The Gilbert Family Wines Company Crest 2004

Forest Fruit. Umami. Charcuterie. Structured.

“Sourced from a single vineyard at 970–1015m above sea level. A centre of intense red cherries, rosella flowers and pomegranate juice. A spice trail weaves its way through the fruit, with highlights of white pepper, sumac and bay leaf. Oak’s cedary allure works well here, too. There is a satin-like quality to the tannins and an undulating line of acidity. A satisfying and sinewy style that drinks very well on release.”

Floral. Elegant. Bright. Complex.

“Sourced from a single vineyard at 970–1015m above sea level. The more assertive and edgy of the two single-vineyard pinot noir siblings from this estate. Its proportion of whole bunches adds flair and wicked deliciousness in shiso leaf, dried bay and violet tones. Quite beguiling in its potency. Its zingy acidity steadily creeps northward, with some sweet red raspberry surprises, too. A wine that thrills and delights at each turn.”
